Cultural Project – “Rebirth from roots”

Our event

On October 4th, 2025, we launched our cultural project “Rebirth from the Roots” with a special event titled “Coral, the Legacy of the Sea: A Story of Tradition and Passion.” The gathering offered a unique opportunity to celebrate coral, the lifeblood of our company for nearly 50 years and offered an overview of coral’s history and future, exploring its cultural, creative and economic dimension.

Location

The event has been organized in collaboration with the MUSA Center – Museum of Agricultural Sciences, the Department of Agriculture of the University of Naples Federico II and the Metropolitan City of Naples.
The event took place in the stunning Royal Palace of Portici, a historic Bourbon residence located between Mount Vesuvius and the sea. Commissioned by Charles of Bourbon in 1738, the Palace has always represented a symbol of the historical link between Torre del Greco and the art of coral craftsmanship. Today, it houses the University of Naples Federico II’s Department of Agriculture, yet its regal past still shines through, making it the perfect setting for an event dedicated to coral, culture and design.

The activities

The day began with a guided tour through the rooms of the Palace and led guests into the White Hall, which hosted an evocative exhibition created specifically for the event.
The showcases displayed jewels and art pieces made from coral by our company partners, outstanding jewellers and designers from across Europe.
Each showcase reflected the uniqueness, creativity, and passion of our partners and gave the public the opportunity to admire incredible pieces crafted with dedication and care.
The event centered around the conference, moderated by journalist Metis di Meo, featuring twelve speakers who shared their artistic journeys and the techniques that inspire their designs. The speakers brought to life a fascinating dialogue, starting from traditional coral craftsmanship to its evolution in contemporary design.

In the afternoon, the conference continued with a focus on the economics and marketing of jewelry, exploring the dynamics of today’s luxury market in Italy and abroad. During this second session, we discussed how to communicate the authenticity and uniqueness of “Made in Italy” in the global context.

Subsequently, other partners presented their companies and talked about the audiences they have in mind when designing their pieces.
We also welcomed a special guest, a researcher from the GIA (Gemmological Institute of America) who offered the public an overview of the methods used to study and classify stones, including coral.

The gathering created an opportunity for reflection, discussion and growth, offering participants a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge about coral and its role in the luxury market. An event that celebrated tradition and laid the foundations for the future, marking the beginning of our event series “Coral: Rebirth from the Roots.”
